The Suidoosterfees arts festival, presented in Cape Town starting April to end May every year, is named after Cape Town’s southeastern wind – the Cape Doctor – and serves as a metaphor to symbolise healing and reconciliation. The festival exists to promote an inclusive, non-racial South African society through the arts, and runs several development projects benefiting emerging writers, singers and performers in the arts community.
