Zabalaza is the Baxter Theatre Centre’s dynamic development programme, focused on discovering and showcasing strong new theatre voices from across the Western Cape. It empowers emerging and established artists to bring fresh stories to the stage through community mini-festivals, play readings and showcases. Each year, activities culminate in an annual festival in March. One standout production is selected to perform at Suidoosterfees, offering artists a powerful platform to reach wider audiences and the national festival circuit.
