The Klein Kollective is a Cape Town–based music project led by drummer and creative collaborator Joshua Klein. Known for his expressive touch and wide-ranging musical vocabulary, Joshua brings together a rotating lineup of some of South Africa’s most exciting jazz and contemporary musicians.

Blending modern jazz energy with groove-driven improvisation, the Kollective creates a sound that’s both rooted and forward-moving. The project draws on Joshua’s experience performing with ensembles across the country, as well as collaborations with leading South African artists including Mandla Mlangeni, McCoy Mrubata, Dan Shout, Ramon Alexander, Afrika Mkhize, and the late Feya Faku.
