The UCT Strings Competition is now open to string players from across South Africa and consists of two categories: Junior and Senior. The competition provides a nurturing atmosphere for young talent and strives to be recognised as a platform that promotes excellence in string instrument performance. Finalists in each category will present a short recital programme of approximately 30 minutes of music. The UCT Strings Competition aims to bring communities together to experience outstanding performances by gifted young artists at the beginning of their musical journeys, celebrating their artistry and bright futures.

The first 100 UCT students receive free entry (early bird), after which UCT student tickets will cost R50.
