The UCT Big Band Celebrates Women is an evening dedicated to honouring the artistry, creativity, and enduring impact of women in jazz. Showcasing works by eminent female composers and arrangers, the programme highlights a rich and diverse musical landscape shaped by women’s voices across genres and traditions. GThe concert features the dynamic UCT Jazz Voices vocal ensemble, alongside an exciting collaboration with the SACM African Music section. The evening will also spotlight featured performances by UCT Jazz singing students, whose interpretations add fresh perspectives and energy to the repertoire.

Together, these performances celebrate not only the legacy of women in music, but also the emerging voices who continue to shape its future.

The first 100 UCT students receive free entry (early bird), after which UCT student tickets will cost R50.
