Antigone by Sophocles is represented in an adaption by Sean Mathias and Myer Taub originally commissioned by the Royal National Theatre for the Baxter Theatre production in 2005, this revival which tell the story of Antigone's defiance of a royal decree prohibiting the burial of her brother, slain in a civil war, serves as the axis for this gritty enactment of age-old conflicts between rulers and their subjects, within families, between the sexes and across generations; is also an experimentation of the present in installation and performance redirected by Myer Taub (Dr) and students from the Theatre and Performance department, TAP, Wits School of Arts.

• For daytime shows, all visitors should park at the visitors parking on Yale Road at the Anglo – Dome.
• For visitors on foot, please use the Sutton Close Entrance, to scan your ID and make your way to the Wits Theatre
• For high schools coming to attend, all schools should report to Wits University an hour before the show, park buses at the visitors’ parking spaces by the Anglo - Dome and may make their way to the Wits Theatre.
