The 28th uMngeni-uThukela Water Marathon takes place in March every year during National Water Week at Midmar Dam.

42.2 km
21.1 km
10km (run/walk)
5km Fun Run/walk
The race entry fee includes free entry into Midmar Dam Resort (valid only from 4:00 am to 6:00 am) and covers online entry charges.
The first 800 on-line entrants in the 10, 21.1 and 42.2 km events will receive a t-shirt. Sizes subject to availability
Medals to all finishers within the specified cut-off times.

Athletes are required to personally collect their race packs on one of the following dates and locations:
Saturday, 7 March 2026, at Collegians’ Club, 381 Boshoff Street, Pietermaritzburg, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Sunday, 8 March 2026, at Midmar Dam Resort, between 4:00 am and 5:15 am
