A young solicitor, Arthur Kipps, is sent to the remote Eel Marsh House to settle the estate of the recluse Mrs. Drablow. Alone in the isolated, fog-bound mansion cut off by the tides, he discovers a terrible secret – the house is haunted by a vengeful woman in black, whose appearance heralds death.
Desperate to exorcise his trauma, the older Kipps hires a skeptical actor to help him tell his story on stage. What begins a simple rehearsal soon becomes a terrifying reliving of events. No gore, no gimmicks – just 2 actors and atmospheric terror.
