WEIGHTLESS is a gentle, visually rich theatre piece that follows the memories of neighbours living in a city apartment block. A young girl visits them—draws with them, plays pranks, shares tea. As each character recalls their time with her, we slowly start to piece together a deeper story: her mother is gone. Told through half-mask and Lecoq-inspired physical performance, this is a one-woman show that brings an entire community to life. There’s loss at the centre of the story, but also warmth, humour, and care.
The production doesn’t try to explain anything. It simply lets us sit with what it means to notice someone. To hold them. Even just for a moment. People live near each other but aren’t always connected. WEIGHTLESS asks what it means to care for someone who isn’t family. In a time where loneliness is rising and kindness can feel absent from both public life and politics, this piece turns its attention to what’s still holding us together. Quietly.
