Fiona is an upright, cautious citizen who rarely ventures beyond her front door. When her exuberant and adventurous friend Andromeda arrives with an irresistible invitation, Fiona reluctantly agrees to step into the unknown. Soon the pair are airborne and heading for the Kalahari Desert on a journey that will test her fears, challenge her assumptions and reveal unexpected possibilities.
Drawing on physical theatre and European clowning traditions, A DAY IN THE DESERT transforms an ordinary day into an extraordinary adventure.
With humour, playfulness and theatrical invention, two performers create a richly imagined world in which friendship becomes the catalyst for courage, curiosity and self-discovery. Beneath its light-hearted surface, the production explores themes of fear, risk, resilience and the importance of embracing life's uncertainties.
