One evening. One dancer. One spotlight.

Solo Night is one of the most personal evenings on the RSB calendar. There are no group numbers, no safety in the corps — just each dancer, alone on stage, performing a solo they have prepared entirely for this moment.

Dancers aged 7 and above take part, performing solos in classical ballet, jazz, or contemporary dance. Every piece is prepared in private one-on-one coaching sessions over 3-4 months. The result is something you rarely see on stage: a young dancer's individual artistry, completely unfiltered.

This is not a competition. There are no marks, no rankings, and no pressure — only the courage it takes to step out alone, and the joy of having done it.

What to expect:
- Solo performances in classical ballet, jazz, neo-classical ballet, character and contemporary dance
- Dancers from age 7 through to adults — every level represented
- Intimate, non-competitive atmosphere — a true celebration of personal growth

Presented by the Russian School of Ballet — the only school in South Africa offering the complete, authentic Vaganova ballet method, founded in Johannesburg in 2009.
