A powerful play written and directed by the celebrated awards winner – Julian Seleke Mokoto. “Scars of a Woman” is a play about GBV (Gender Based Violence). As the story unfolds, we learn that nobody hides pains better than a woman who is trying to remain strong for her family. The play also teaches us that life will challenge you every day and some days you just feel defeated and want to give-up. You must always believe in your strength. Life can be tough but you will always be tougher because you went through a lot in life.
.
The smile on an abused person’s face does not mean his/her life is perfect, but it simply means that despite her challenges she chose to focus on her blessings. The fact of the matter is, what you think of me won’t change who am I because you have no understanding of my scars even less of how I got them.
The pain of gender-based violence is in this well written and directed-play…” Scars of a Woman”.
